感谢联合国秘书长，UNICEF执行主任，和远道而来的各位杰出来宾。

My nameis Kim Namjoon, also known as RM, the leader of the group BTS. It is an incredible honor to be invited to an occasion with such significance for today's young generation.

我的名字是金南俊，也是RM, BTS的队长。能被邀请来到对年轻人一代有着重大意义的场合是一个不可思议的荣幸。

Last November,BTS launched the LOVE MYSELF campaign with UNICEF,building our belief that true love first begins with loving myself.

去年十一月，BTS和UNICEF发起了LOVEMYSELF活动，我们坚信着一份真爱的开始是要先爱自己。

We've been partnering with UNICEF's END VLOLENCE Program,to protect children and young people all over the world from violence.

我们与UNICEF的END VOLENCE项目合作，以保护全球的儿童和青年免遭受暴力。

And our fans have become a major part of this campaign, with their action and with their enthusiasm. We truly have the best fans in the world.

并且我们的粉丝也用他们的热情与行动担任了这项运动的重要部分,我们有着全世界最棒的粉丝。

And I'd like to begin by talking about myself. I was born in Ilsan, a city near Seoul, in South Korea. It is a really beautiful place with a lake, hills and even an annual flower festival.

首先我来谈谈我自己。我在韩国的日山出生，一个离首尔很近的城市。它是一个很美的地方，有湖泊，山丘和一年一度的花宴。

I spenta very happy childhood there and I was just an ordinary boy.

我在那度过了一个很快乐的童年，我也只是一个普通的男孩。

I used to look up the night sky and wonder, and I used to dream the dreams of a boy. I used to imagine that I was a superhero who could save the world.

我那时常仰望夜空并惊讶于此，做着属于小男孩的各式各样的梦。我曾常常幻想我是一个能拯救世界的超人。

And in the Intro to one of our early albums, there is a line that says, my heart stopped when I was maybe 9 or 10.

而且在我们早期专辑的一首Intro中，有这样一句歌词说道，我9岁或10岁的时候心脏停止跳动了。

Looking back, I think that's when I began to worry about what other people thought of me, and starting seeing myself through their eyes.

回想起来，是从那时起，我开始忧虑别人对我的看法，开始从别人的眼里看自己。

I stopped looking up at the night skies, the stars, I stopped day dreaming.

我不再仰望夜空和星星，我不再做白日梦了。

取而代之的是我开始强迫自己挤入他人塑造的模型。我开始不去听自己的声音，开始去听别人的声音。

No one called out my name, and neither did I. My heart stopped and my eyes closed shut.

没有人在呼喊我的名字，并且我自己也没有。我的心脏不再跳动，闭上了眼睛。

So, like this, I, we, all lost our names, we became like ghosts.

就像这样，我，我们，都失去了自己的名字，我们像是成为了幽灵。

But I had one sanctuary and that was music。There was a small voice inside of me that said: 

'Wake up man and listen to yourself.'

但是我有一个庇护所一一音乐。我内心有一个小小的声音在说:“醒醒，听听你自己的声音。”

But it took me quite a long time to hear music calling my real name.

但是我用了很久的时间才听到音乐呼唤我的真名。

Even after making the decision to join BTS, there were a lot of hurdles. Some people might not believe but most people thought we were hopeless.

在我决定加入BTS之后，仍经历了许多困难。有些人可能不相信，但曾经大多数人都认为我们没有希望。

And sometimes，I just wanted to quit, but I think I was very lucky，I didn't give it all up.

有时我也想过放弃，但是我觉得我很 jam myself into the molds that other people made. Soon I began to shut out my own voice, and started to listen to the voices of others.

BTS has become artists performing in those huge stadiums and selling millions of albums right now.

BTS现已成为在竞技场公演和专辑销量百万的艺术家。

But I am still an ordinary 24-year-old guy.

但是我依旧是一个普通的24岁男孩。

If there is anything that I've achieved, it was only possible that I have my other BTS members right by my side.

如果我有任何成就，只可能是因为身边有我的BTS成员陪着我。

And because of the love and support that our ARMY fans all over the world made for us.

也是因为我们全世界的粉丝给予我们的爱与支持。
